Founded in the 5th century and built on 118 islands, it was the capital of the powerful Republic of Venice, an important maritime and commercial power. Among its main attractions are St. Mark’s Square, St. Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace, the Rialto Bridge, and the Grand Canal. In the afternoon we will continue to MONTECATINI. Accommodation.
MONTECATINI - LA SPEZIA - MONTECATINI. Breakfast. In the morning we will transfer to the La Spezia region to take the train that connects the villages of Cinque Terre. We will start with a short ride to Vernazza, one of the most colorful villages in this area of Italy. We will also visit Monterosso, the largest town in Cinque Terre, known for its beaches and clear waters. Another stop will be RIOMAGGIORE, a small municipality built on the hillside facing the Ligurian Sea, where we can see the fishermen’s daily life at the port. After the Cinque Terre excursion, we will return by train to La Spezia and then take the bus back to Montecatini. Accommodation.
MONTECATINI - LUCCA - PISA - VOLTERRA - MONTECATINI. Breakfast. Early departure to visit LUCCA, with its Renaissance walls, the Guinigi Tower, and the Cathedral of San Martino. Lucca is famous for its medieval architecture and charming atmosphere. We will continue to PISA, a city in Tuscany, known for its iconic Leaning Tower. The 56-meter white marble cylinder was already leaning when completed in 1372 and serves as the bell tower of the striped marble Romanesque cathedral in Piazza dei Miracoli. The square also features the Baptistery, whose famous acoustics are demonstrated daily, and the Camposanto Monumental cemetery. We will then head to VOLTERRA, a walled town southwest of Florence. The Palazzo dei Priori houses medieval frescoes and a bell tower with panoramic views. Volterra’s cathedral features a marble entrance and a gilded coffered ceiling. Return to the hotel in MONTECATINI.
MONTECATINI - SAN GIMIGNANO - SIENA - ASSISI. Breakfast at the hotel. We will continue to SAN GIMIGNANO, starting the day in its cobblestoned historic center. Admire the medieval towers that give San Gimignano the nickname “The City of Towers”. We will continue to Piazza della Cisterna, a picturesque square surrounded by historic buildings, perfect for photos and enjoying the atmosphere. After visiting San Gimignano, we will continue to Siena. After visiting this beautiful city, we will head to Assisi. Accommodation.
ASSISI - SALERNO. Breakfast. At the indicated time, we will depart to visit the beautiful hilltop city in the central Italian region of Umbria. Assisi was the birthplace of Saint Francis (1181–1226), one of Italy’s patron saints. The Basilica of Saint Francis is a large two-level church consecrated in 1253. The 13th-century frescoes depicting Saint Francis’ life have been attributed to Giotto and Cimabue, among others. The crypt houses the saint’s stone sarcophagus. After the visit, we will continue to SALERNO. Accommodation.
SALERNO - AMALFI COAST - SALERNO. Breakfast at the hotel. We will depart to take the ferry to discover two of the most beautiful towns in Italy. Transfer to Salerno’s ferry port, where we will take the ferry to visit the beautiful island of CAPRI. It is an island in the Bay of Naples, famous for its rugged landscape, exclusive hotels and shopping, from designer fashion to limoncello and handmade leather sandals. In the afternoon, return to the hotel. Accommodation.
SALERNO – MATERA - LECCE. Breakfast. Departure to the troglodyte city of Matera. Although progress and 1950s laws forced inhabitants to abandon their cave homes, this beautiful city in southern Italy has continued to fight for a prestigious place on Italy’s tourist stage, first with UNESCO World Heritage recognition in 1993. Its landscapes seem from another era, blending the biblical, the fantastic and the exotic, which is why filmmakers choose it to recreate other worlds without CGI. Matera has been used in films such as “The Passion of the Christ” (2004), “No Time to Die” (2021), “Wonder Woman” (2017), and “Ben-Hur” (2016). A guided walking tour with a local guide is offered. We then continue to Lecce. Accommodation.

We will continue to Taranto, a city in southern Italy in Apulia, located on the Ionian Sea, on the isthmus of the Salento peninsula, giving its name to the Gulf of Taranto. The old town is situated on a small island between the Mediterranean and Mare Piccolo, a nearly enclosed bay. Return to Lecce. Accommodation.
LECCE - ALBEROBELLO - OSTUNI - LOCOROTONDO - BARI. Breakfast. We will continue to ALBEROBELLO, the city of the Trulli, curious conical houses built with limestone stones, a symbol of Puglia and a fine example of dry-stone construction. Later we head to LOCOROTONDO, a town in the province of Bari, Puglia, with 14,167 inhabitants, known for its wines and the circular layout of its historic center, crowned by the Mother Church of Saint George.
