Arrival in Frankfurt and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation. The guide will be available at the hotel from 7:00 p.m.
Breakfast and visit of Frankfurt, including the historic center with Römer, Town Hall, Cathedral and Paulskirche. Visit to Goethe’s House, Frankfurt Fair complex, Alte Oper, the financial district with Europe’s tallest skyscrapers, the European Central Bank, Hauptwache and Zeil shopping street. Departure to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, a perfectly preserved medieval town. Afternoon departure to Heidelberg. Accommodation.
Visit of Heidelberg, Germany’s oldest university city. Walking tour of the old town and historical buildings such as the Old Town Hall and Heiliggeistkirche. Visit to Heidelberg Castle with panoramic views of the Neckar Valley and its giant wine barrel. Walk across the Old Bridge. Free afternoon and accommodation.
Journey through the Neckar and Rhine valleys to Strasbourg. Panoramic visit of the city including the Gothic cathedral, La Petite France and Cathedral Square. Continuation to Freiburg.
Travel from Freiburg to Lindau through the Black Forest. Visit to the world’s largest cuckoo clock in Schonach. Continuation to Lindau, an island town on Lake Constance with a picturesque harbor and historic architecture. Departure to Munich crossing the Allgäu region, known for its meadows, forests and traditional houses. Arrival and accommodation in Munich.
Panoramic tour of Munich beginning at Karlstor, then St. Michael’s Church, Marienplatz with its famous Glockenspiel, Frauenkirche, Opera Square, Feldherrnhalle, Bürgersaalkirche, the Royal Residence, St. Peter’s Church and the English Garden. Accommodation.
Visit to Neuschwanstein Castle, built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria. Continuation to Linderhof Palace. Afternoon visit to Oberammergau, known for its Passion Play, and the Benedictine abbey of Ettal. Accommodation.
Departure to Vienna via the Danube Valley. Short walk through Dürnstein, known for King Richard’s imprisonment. Continuation to Vienna. In the evening, traditional dinner at Marchfelderhof with drinks included. Accommodation.
Panoramic visit of Vienna including Belvedere Palace gardens, Ringstrasse, State Opera, Art History Museum, Parliament, City Hall, National Theatre, Hofburg, historic center streets, Anchor Clock and Jewish Quarter. Interior visit of St. Stephen’s Cathedral. Accommodation.
